Ferrari unveils the SF 90 Spider – the Prancing Horse’s first 1000 horsepower plug-in hybrid

SF 90 Spider: beyond imagination

On Thursday 12 November, Ferrari unveiled the spider version of the brand’s most powerful car in Maranello.

The brand says the SF 90 spider’s plug-in hybrid system guarantees levels of performance unmatched by any other spider: its 780-horsepower turbocharged V8 engine is also assisted by three electric motors, one at the rear and two on the front axle, bringing maximum power to 1,000 horsepower …. an achievement!

In the presence of the Ferrari staff:

Jane Reeve, Director of Communications
Enrico Galliera, Sales and Marketing Director
Michael Leiters, Chief Technology Officer
Flavio Manzoni, Design Director

A 780-horsepower turbocharged V8 engine is also supported by three electric motors, one at the rear and two on the front axle, bringing maximum power to 1,000 horsepower …. an achievement!

As with the SF 90 Stradale, the SF 90 Spider is also available in a special version for customers who want to take the track experience to the next level.

The Asseto Fiorano includes a range of exclusive improvements that distinguish it from the standard version, including multimatic dampers inspired by the brand’s experience on the GT circuit and optimised for track use.

Other improvements include the use of high performance materials (such as carbon fibre and titanium) which have made the vehicle 20kg lighter,

The carbon fibre rear spoiler and michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres are homologated to improve dry track performance thanks to a lighter compound and a tread pattern with fewer grooves.

Finally, the Assetto Fiorano offers the option of two-tone colours that further underline its race car character.
